AFRO SET
DOOGOO D creates a live set that takes the audience on a journey from West Africa to South Africa, passing through Uganda. Built on original compositions, the set is powerful, raw, rhythmic, and deeply danceable— enriched by a lifetime of experiences and encounters. His music moves in close harmony with dance, opening a space where rhythms intertwine and souls reveal themselves. Every vibration carries a story, a dream, a light.
On this project, DOOGOO D collaborates with artists including Killason (FR), Dobet Gnahoré (FR/CI), Niaka Sacko (MLI), Sista Bethsabée (FR), Mama Tekno (FR/BJ), and the Sœurs Hié (FR/BFA), among others. He is one of the most active composers in the dance world, with his music performed across the globe. He creates with leading contemporary and hip-hop choreographers in Europe. A long-time artistic partner of choreographer Serge Aimé Coulibaly, with six creations to their name, Yvan Talbot—aka DOOGOO D (Dougou Den, “child of the homeland”)—blends electronic music with the essence of African traditions, building a bridge between roots and elevation.
Working often behind the scenes as a music director, he has developed a strong commitment to mentorship and artist development. Notably, he is the long-time producer of Franco-Beninese rapper Killason, with whom he has collaborated for over 15 years. Driven by a passion for electronic music and house, he finds in Afrobeat 2.0 a style that merges his two core influences. He explores the full spectrum of contemporary African urban music with no boundaries—fueled by over three decades of travel across the continent and an insatiable appetite for its energy.
