JULIE DOSSAVI

AFRO / CONTEMPORARY

She created an hybrid and robust contemporary dance, sensual and plastic, with variations in shapes and rhythms. With her acting skills, she creates intimate performances questioning the status of women and her multicultural background.

Trained at UEREPS Paris (contemporary dance option), Julie Dossavi performed as a dancer with Jean- François Duroure, Philippe Decouflé (assistant for the opening ceremony of the Olympic games in Albertville), Salia ni Seydou, Kettly Noël, Gérard Gourdot, Kader Attou... She took part in music videos, TV broadcasts and choreographed fashion shows.

She created her company in 2003, and produced choreographical pieces and site-specific performances. Its productions were staged all over the world : France (Montpellier Dance Festival, Paris Quartier d’Eté, Rencontres chorégraphiques internationales de Seine Saint Denis...), Spain (Mercat de les Flores Festival, Barcelona..), South America and the USA (Los Angeles, Austin, Miami, Alburquerque, Baton Rouge), Colombia, Bosnia, Egypt....

Julie Dossavi, as a great entertainer, organises «A city that dances», a huge participative project, consisting of a choreographic parade and performances with amateurs, and the «Great Dossavien Ball». This project had a great success in 2010 and 2014 in the french cities of Angoulême and Brive la Gaillarde, as well as in Paris in 2019.
